Protecting their home and loved ones
In Asian cultures, guardian lions were thought to be the protectors of the truth. The sculptures were mostly made in stone and placed in imperial tombs as protectors. In the Song Dynasty, Guardian Lions started to evolve from tombs to everyday life. Apart from imperial graveyards, the lions were placed in temples, residences, and gardens.
Guardian lions represent peace and are believed to impart calmness to anyone who bears their mark. They also represent energy and happiness. Guardian lions almost always appear in pairsso if you’re inclined to buy two at once, I’m sure they’d appreciate it.
